Electrician Class 1

Description

A medium-sized gold mining company is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Electrician Class 1 to join its maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient mining operations. Key Responsibilities - Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, pumps, conveyors, generators, and other mining equipment. - Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. - Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical installations. - Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. - Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations, mining standards, and company procedures. - Test, commission, and maintain electrical equipment for optimal performance. - Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements. - Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects. - Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean working environment.
