ASSISTANT BOILERMAKER

Description

A vacancy has arisen in the Engineering Department for the position of Assistant Boilermaker. The incumbent will be reporting to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities • Assist the Boilermaker in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and equipment. • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment required for maintenance and fabrication work. • Assist with cutting, grinding, drilling, welding preparation, and fitting of metal components. • Carry out routine inspections and report defects or maintenance requirements. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety procedures. • Support breakdown maintenance and plant shutdown activities as required. • Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials. • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor. Person Specification • National Certificate in fabrication engineering, or a related technical field. • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment will be an added advantage. • Basic knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and engineering drawings. • Strong technical skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude toward safety and continuous improvement. • Good communication and teamwork skills.
