Description
Reporting to the Board of Directors / Managing Director, the purpose of this role is to: Develop assigned projects from land acquisition and permitting, through engineering, to a fully shovel-ready state. Act as Owner’s Engineer, coordinating implementation through to commissioning and handover. Supply the technical, bankability and data-room inputs that enable Board-led financing. Align directors, government departments, specialist consultants and EPC contractors around a single delivery plan. Track record required: Must have developed and implemented at least 5 MW of solar PV, including at least one project above 1 MW.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Energy or Mechanical Engineering (or related); professional registration (ZIE/ECZ) an advantage. Proven experience developing and implementing at least 5 MW of solar PV, including at least one project above 1 MW taken from development to commissioning. Demonstrated Project Management capability – PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent – with strong delivery record. Working knowledge of Zimbabwe’s energy regulatory framework (ZERA, ZETDC, EMA/EIA), or ability to master an equivalent framework quickly. Knowledge of PPA and EPC contract structures and FIDIC/NEC contracts; experience preparing technical due diligence/bankability materials. Software: PVsyst, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Helioscope, GIS (QIS/Arch GIS) and MS Project or equivalent.
