Description

Our client, a leading wholesale and retail organisation, is looking for an experienced Buyer to take ownership of the edible oils category. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships to ensure product availability, competitive pricing and optimal stock levels across the business. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Develop and execute procurement strategies for the edible oils category. Source, negotiate and manage relationships with local and international suppliers. Monitor market trends, commodity prices and competitor activity. Negotiate pricing, trading terms and promotional support. Maintain optimal stock levels while minimising stock holding costs. Work closely with Sales, Operations and Logistics to ensure product availability. Analyse sales, margins and inventory performance to maximise profitability. Resolve supplier performance issues and ensure consistent product quality.
