Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and technically minded Procurement & Sourcing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will manage local parts sourcing, optimize supplier networks, and minimize equipment downtime by ensuring the right technical parts are available when needed.
Requirements
Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or Business Administration.
CIPS Diploma (Level 4/Diploma in Procurement and Supply or studying toward Level 5/MCIPS) is a distinct advantage.
Familiarity with local commercial purchasing regulations and statutory compliance (e.g., PRAZ certification or local supply chain institute membership).
A clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence is essential for routine supplier visits, urgent parts expediting, and local vendor verifications.
3 to 5 years of hands-on procurement, inventory purchasing, or local parts sourcing experience. Experience within an equipment dealership, motor/commercial vehicle spares outlet, or engineering workshop is highly preferred.
Proven experience handling technical parts nomenclature (OEM part numbers, cross-referencing superseded numbers, lubricants, filters, seals, hydraulic fittings, fast-moving vs. slow-moving stock).
Track record of sourcing urgent breakdown parts locally to minimize machine downtime (Machine Down / VOR – Vehicle Off Road situations).
Established relationships with reputable local parts fabricators, bearing/seal distributors, machine shops, and authorized brand distributors. Experience negotiating 30–60 day credit terms, volume rebates, bulk discount pricing, and strict delivery SLAs.
Working knowledge of integrated ERPs or Dealership Management Systems (DMS) such as Odoo, SAP, Syspro, Sage Evolution, or Kerridge/Automate. Experience with end-to-end processing: Requisitions → RFQ comparison → PO → GRN → 3-way invoice matching.
