Description

The successful candidates will support fleet availability by carrying out vehicle inspections, servicing, preventive maintenance and repairs. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on trucks and company vehicles. Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance. Inspect vehicles and identify potential mechanical problems. Repair engines, brakes, suspension, clutch, gearbox and related systems. Conduct roadworthiness inspections before vehicles are released. Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing and parts used. Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs when required. Report motor faults and recommend appropriate repairs or component replacement.

Requirements

National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent. Journeyman Class I qualification is an added advantage. At least 2 years’ post-apprenticeship hands-on experience. Heavy vehicle experience is required. Valid Driver’s Licence is required. Strong mechanical diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of workshop safety, tools and equipment.
