Description
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Kutsaga is seeking a highly organized, technical, and proactive Fleet Officer to oversee fleet operations, logistics, and maintenance management while providing relief Class 1 driving services. The incumbent will be responsible for technical fleet oversight, asset utilization, maintenance compliance, and driver supervision, while stepping in to operate staff buses and heavy trucks during driver absences, leave, or peak operational periods. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Superintendent and will be engaged on a performance-based contract.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Transport & Logistics Management or a related field. Higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
- A valid and clean Class 1 Driver’s Licence with requisite endorsements, a valid medical certificate, retest, and a valid Defensive Driving Certificate (DDC).
- A minimum of five (5) years' practical experience in heavy fleet management and operations, including proven experience operating staff buses and articulated heavy trucks.
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics, job card procedures, and practical experience with vehicle tracking/telematics systems (e.g., Cartrack, Connected Car).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and computerized fleet/maintenance management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure with high integrity and professionalism.
