Description

A medium-sized gold mining company is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician Class 2 to join its Mine Staff Housing and Amenities Maintenance team. This position is immediately available and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic mining environment, ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of electrical systems within staff housing, offices, and associated facilities. Key Responsibilities Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in houses, flats, offices, and other mine facilities. Wiring of residential and commercial buildings, including lighting circuits, power sockets, distribution boards (DBs), and related electrical equipment. Fault finding, troubleshooting, and rectification of electrical faults. Preventive maintenance of electrical installations to ensure safety and reliability. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Ensuring all work complies with applicable electrical standards, regulations, and safety procedures. Assisting with electrical upgrades, renovations, and new installations as required. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting faults and repairs.

Requirements

National Diploma or National Certificate in Electrical and Power Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Class 2 Electrician qualification. Proven ability to wire houses, flats, lighting systems, power outlets, distribution boards, and associated electrical installations. Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation. At least 2 years' relevant work experience, preferably in mining, manufacturing, heavy industry, or a similar environment. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
